Welcome to the Central Jersey Region of the
Vintage Chevrolet Club of America
Central Jersey Region #8
The Central Jersey Region may be the smallest in the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America, with only nine member families.
The Vintage Chevrolet Club of America was founded in 1961. The Central Jersey Region can trace its origin back to 1966. The Central Jersey Region was first listed as a region in the March 1966 issue of the Generator and Distributor, the Club’s official magazine. At that time there were twelve regions and about three hundred members, nationally. The Region has maintained its charter for over fifty years!
The Central Jersey Region is located within Area #8, defined geographically by the VCCA as Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
There are six regions in Area #8 at this time, each serving a loosely defined area.
Central Jersey Region – Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset Counties
Historic Region – Mercer, Burlington, Camden Counties
Lakeland Region – Morris, Bergen, Passaic Counties
New Jersey Region – Cumberland, Salem, Gloucester Counties
Keystone Region – The area around Hershey, Pennsylvania
Pine Barrens Touring Region – a non-geographic region with members throughout the US. The region’s focus is touring and driving our vehicles.
Region membership has fluctuated over the years and has declined recently due to our aging population. But the Region has continued to function and both sponsor and participate in Regional and National activities and events including tours, meets and social gatherings in addition to holding Region meetings which have always been in the homes of members. The Region has also sponsored National Club activities and local charities. The Region makes an annual donation to our local food bank.
The Central Jersey Region welcomes new members. Members need not own a collector vehicle to enjoy our hobby, but national membership in the VCCA is required.
